GV II

Houses, now shops with flats over. Numbered right to left,
described left to right. c1818 with later additions and
alterations, including mid-late C20 shop fronts to ground
floor. Pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond to left with
painted stucco front facade and Welsh slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys, 5 first-floor windows arranged 2:1:2.
From first floor the central window-bay projects and is
taller. Full-height, fluted Corinthian pilasters through first
and second floors to ends and to either side of projection.
First floor: three 3/9 sashes, two tall 6/6 sashes. Second
floor: 6/6 sashes with sills throughout. Frieze with moulded
decoration to upper part, modillion cornice with acanthus and
paterae decoration between. Third floor: three 8/8 sashes, two
6/6 sashes. All windows in plain reveals. Glazed shop fronts
and panelled doors to ground floor. Dentil frieze to right,
scroll and anthemion motif to central upshot. End and rear
stacks to left. To rear: 3/3 and 6/6 sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Bath Street was a main street in the C18
village of Leamington.
Nos 56-64 (even) (qqv) form a group together with Nos 29-49
(odd) Bath Street (qqv).
