Binswood Hall Annex
GV II
Pair of semi-detached villas, now school. c1828-1834 with
later additions and alterations. Reddish-brown brick with
painted stucco facades and Welsh slate roof.
3 storeys, 4 first-floor windows with single-storey,
single-bay extension to left. First floor: continuous band;
6/6 sashes in plain reveals and with tooled architraves with
frieze and cornice, and sills on plain corbels.
Second floor: four 3/6 sashes in plain reveals and tooled,
eared architraves and with sills.
Ground floor: four tall 6/9 sashes in tooled, eared
architraves and with sills. Entrance now to right within
extension to Binswood Hall (qv). Tall end and centre stacks
with cornices.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Binswood Avenue was laid out c1828, houses to
the west were completed by 1834. Nos 1-29 (odd) Binswood
Avenue (qqv) constitute an architectural group.
Now part of Binswood School (qv).
