House. c1834-1838. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco
front facade and Welsh slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with basement and attic to gable, 3
first-floor windows.
First floor: band; between each window and to ends are incised
Greek-fret-type decoration; 6/6 sashes, narrower to left with
sills, in plain reveals and tooled surrounds.
Ground floor: 3 roll-edged steps to 5-panel door with
overlight with margin-lights, in plain reveals, within
architrave with pilasters with incised Greek-fret-type
decoration, frieze, cornice and pediment. To left a 6/6 sash,
to right a canted bay with 6/6 between 2/2 sashes, cornice.
Basement has concealed opening. Attic to left gable has
casement window. Tall, stepped right stack with cornice.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Leam Terrace was laid out c1828-1836 and
almost completely built to Willes Road by 1841.
Forms a corner architectural unit with No.1 Lower Leam Street
(qv) and an architectural group with Nos 68, 70 and 72 Leam
Terrace (qqv).
