3 houses, now shops with flats and storage over. c1822-26 with
later additions and alterations including late C19
ground-floor shop fronts. Pinkish-brown brick with painted
stucco front facade, Welsh slate roof and cast-iron balconies.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6 first-floor windows with attic dormers
to rear. Stucco detailing includes pilaster strips to ends of
right dwelling, through first and second floors.
First floor: two 8-pane French windows with divided overlights
all with margin-lights; two 6-pane French windows with divided
overlights; 2 multi-pane French windows, all in plain reveals.
Second floor: four 6/6 sashes, 2 multi-pane casements in plain
reveals with cambered heads to those 4 to left and with sills.
Cornice and blocking course to 2 houses to right, tall ridge
and right end stacks with cornices.
Ground floor, to left: 3 steps to 6-panel door with overlight
with glazing-bars in plain reveals in doorcase with pilasters,
frieze, cornice continues across shop front: steps to central
part-glazed entrance with overlight, glass shop fronts canted
towards door and with narrow pilasters and aprons.
To No.37 a similar shop-front with further similar entrance to
right with overlight with oval glazing and in fielded-panel
reveals; shares common frieze and cornice across carriage
entrance (to Covent Garden Market) with No.39, with similar
shop front.
To rear: 3/6 and 6/6 sashes. To 4 left first-floor windows are
individual double-heart-and-anthemion motif balconies.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Warwick Street was laid out c1822-26.
A good row of late C19 shop fronts.
