Terrace of 8 houses, now shops with flats, offices and storage
over. Numbered right to left, described left to right.
c1822-1830 with later additions and alterations including
mid-C20 ground-floor shop fronts. Pinkish-brown brick with
painted stucco front facades and Welsh slate roofs, with
cast-iron balconies.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 16 first-floor windows (2 per house). End
2-window bays and central 4-window range project; continuous
first-floor sill band. Projections have Doric pilasters from
first through second floors, and between 7th and 8th, and 9th
and 10th windows, with pair of pilasters between 8th and 9th
windows.
First floor: 6/6 sashes throughout, 7th, 8th, 15th and 16th
windows have tooled and eared architraves, otherwise mainly
with tooled, splayed surrounds, but missing to 1st and 2nd and
13th and 14th.
Windows 3, 4, 5, 6, 12 and 13 have frieze and cornice. Windows
7, 8, 9, 10, 16 and 17 have frieze and pediment.
Second floor: 3/6 sashes with sills throughout; windows 3, 4,
5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 have tooled architraves. All
windows in plain reveals. Frieze, low parapet, copings.
Ground floor: mainly part-glazed entrances, some with
overlights, and glazed shop fronts. Tall right end stacks and
two sets of ridge stacks with cornices. Individual balconies
to No.86, second floor have scroll motif.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Warwick Street was laid out c1822-1826.
