House. c1834-8 with later additions and alterations including
range to rear. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facades
and Welsh slate roof with cast-iron railings.
2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows. First floor: continuous sill
band, 6/6 sashes in plain reveals. Stepped frieze, cornice,
blocking course with copings. Ground floor, central entrance:
roll-edged step to part-glazed, 4-panel door with overlight,
within surround of Tuscan pilasters with frieze, cornice. To
left a 6/6 sash in moulded surround. To right a canted bay of
three 1/1 sashes. Hipped roof, tall ridge and end stacks with
cornices, that to right truncated. Continuous verandah to
ground floor has barley-twist posts and circle motif frieze,
glass roof. Left return: 6/6 sash.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery including
shutters to some windows.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet railings abut house and continue
across front.
