Terraced houses. c1840. Stucco, roofs obscured by parapet.
4 storeys over basement, 3-window range. The house fronts
consist of full-height and almost full-width segmental bays.
Ground floor decorated with banded rustication; flat-arched
entrance, with pilasters and entablature to Nos 70-72, and
overlight. All windows flat-arched, those to the first, second
and third floors having architraves except for the central
4th-floor windows to Nos 73 and 74; first-floor balconies with
cast-iron railings, continuous to Nos 70-72 and individual to
Nos 73-74; storey band between first and second floors; dentil
cornice between second and third; secondary cornice and
blocking course; stacks to party walls. Return of No.70 to
Victoria Road is of 4-window range, all architraved and blank
except where modern windows have been introduced.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Cast-iron railings to steps and areas, missing in places and
replaced in others.
