Entrance piers to Brangwyn Way and
Brangwyn Drive
II
2 piers of identical design, either side of the road leading
on to the Brangwyn Estate, developed by WH Lee c1936. Brick,
concrete and wrought iron. The base is octagonal and projects
at the cardinal points; above that a square pier with narrow
projections to the cardinal points which do not rise as high
as the central pier; the angles between these projections are
filled with narrow ribs of brick set at an angle; on top, a
wrought-iron electric lantern, square in plan with chamfered
corners, resting on a scrolled openwork base. Plinth of
concrete surrounded by dwarf brick walls.
