Terraced house. Early C19. Stucco. Roof of slate.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and dormer over basement. 3 window-range.
Flat-arched entry with side- and overlights. To the right a
pair of round-arched windows with architraves and springing
bands. All windows above are flat-arched, those on the second
floor with projecting sills; camber-arched basement windows
set in rusticated wall. The cast-iron porch of mid C19 to
ground floor is supported by 4 fluted Composite colonnettes on
high socles; above each is an elongated entablature block,
chamfered and studded; between each colonnette are metal
filigree panels. The brackets which attach the colonnettes to
the front wall are, likewise, filigree. The entablature itself
has a panelled frieze decorated with lozenges. A cast-iron
railing above the porch encloses a first floor balcony. Storey
band between first and second floors; cornice and parapet with
balusters; 3 flat-arched dormers. Stacks to party wall.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings to stairs and area.
Nos 68, 69, and 73-89 Marine Parade (qv) form a group with Nos
1-14 Royal Crescent (qv).
