GV II

Terraced house, now part of Clarges Hotel. Early C19,
refronted in mid C19. Stucco. Roof of slate turnerised.
4 storeys over basement. 5-window range. Up stairs to
flat-arched entry with overlight to right party wall, set in
plain prostyle porch with cornice. Ground floor has banded
rustication. Central 3-window range treated as a full-height
circular bay. All windows flat arched, all but those on the
basement and ground floor have continuous architraves and
projecting sills supported by pairs of corbels and floating
cornices. Entablature with modillioned cornice below a high
parapet pierced in 5 sections, each corresponding to a window
below, by an arcaded balustrade. There is a first-floor
balcony supported by cast-iron brackets and enclosed by
cast-iron railings.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Railings to stairs and area.
Nos 111-119 (consecutive), 122-133 (consecutive) and 133A
Marine Parade (qv) form a most important group together with
the whole of Marine Square.
