Mill house, now house. Late C18 with early C19 additions.
Brick laid to Flemish bond on ashlar plinth visible to left
return; renewed gabled tile roof with brick ridge and end
stacks. 2-unit plan extended by one unit to right; rear
outshut and wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic; 3-window range. Plat band over
ground floor and top brick frieze and dentil cornice. Entrance
to right of centre (in addition) has moulded frame and
overlight to 4-panel door (2 panels fielded, 2 flush);
bracketed canopy.
Ground floor has 2 segmental-headed windows to left and window
with rubbed brick cambered arch to right of entrance; one
leaded and 2 small-paned 3-light casements; first floor has
one 2-light small-paned casement and 2 3-light leaded
casements; 2 gabled dormers to left of centre.
Large stack to front of ridge left of centre and stacks to
former and present gable ends; some remaining slate chimney
pots. Attached by left angle to Charlecote Mill (qv). Right
return has small lean-to and first-floor window with brick
flat arch to 4/8 horned sash and end stack with slate pot to
rear range.
Later 2-storey rear range has slate catslide roof and cogged
brick frieze; entrance to right end has 4-flush-panel door;
ground floor has 2 segmental-headed windows flanking C20
casement under timber lintel, that to left with sill to 4/8
sash, that to right with 2-light leaded casement; first floor
has 3 windows with sills to 5/10 sashes.
Wing has slate pentice over segmental-headed openings to 2
entrances (4-panel and plank doors) and 2-light small-paned
casement and 3-light part-leaded casement and wall-mounted
pump; first floor has 2-light leaded casement. End gabled
single-storey cross-wing with cogged cornice and paired doors
under pentice; segmental-headed window to gable-end and
return. Outer return of wing has lateral stack and casement
windows, one leaded.
