Lodge. 1865. By John Gibson. For Henry Spencer Lucy. Brick
with ashlar dressings; fishscale tile roof with brick stacks.
Cross-plan.
EXTERIOR: single-storey; 3-bay range. Ashlar plinth, quoins
and coped gables with kneelers. South front has central gabled
cross-wing with entrance to right return, which has
single-chamfered pointed arch and plank door with strap
hinges; front has canted bay with cornice and cresting to
1:3:1-light transomed double-chamfered mullioned window with
decorative leaded glazing with Lucy luces and cross-crosslets
to red margin lights; small plaque to gable has Lucy crest.
To left a double-chamfered cross-mullioned window with leaded
glazing; to right a 3-bay verandah with faceted rusticated
antae and arches with enriched rusticated voussoirs and triple
keys, cornice and parapet with pierced lattices between
panelled piers to bases of lost finials. Stack to crossing of
gabled roofs has clustered octagonal shafts.
Left and right returns have 3-light transomed windows as above
and gable lights. Rear has central gable with
single-light-iron opening casement with 2-light
double-chamfered mullioned window above with decorative leaded
glazing. Blocked window to right return, round-headed entrance
to left return and 2-light window with imitation leaded
glazing to left.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
