Estate cottage. 1839. For George and Mary Lucy of Charlecote
Park. Brick with blue brick diapering in heart pattern derived
from Charlecote Park (qv) and ashlar dressings; tile roof with
2 brick rear lateral stacks with ashlar dressings.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with basement; 4-window range. Top cornice
and diapered brick parapet with stone coping. Entrance, up 2
flights of steps flanking segmental-headed basement entrance,
has architrave and C20 glazed door. Double-chamfered mullioned
windows have label moulds and decorative leaded glazing, some
with stained glass; ground floor has two 2-light windows to
left and a single-light and 2-light window to right; first
floor projects on 2 pairs of iron posts forming porch to
entrance with 2-light window. Original rainwater goods.
Left return has tall 3-light window to ground floor and
shorter 3-light window above. Rear has some mullioned windows.
Large late C20 addition to right end in harmonizing style.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Situated near former kitchen garden of Charlecote Park, on
bank of river near Hiorn's Bridge (qv).
