House. Late C18 with C19 brick extensions to rear. Lined
stucco; hipped Welsh slate or tile roof with brick ridge
stacks. Style in the manner of Henry Holland. Double-depth
plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic storey; symmetrical 5-window
range. Top ashlar cornice and blocking course. Entrance has
distyle-in-antis Tuscan porch, moulded doorcase, fanlight with
glazing bars over paired 3-panel doors. Windows have sills and
stucco rusticated wedge lintels with key blocks over 6/6
sashes, 2 windows to first floor with C19 2/2 sashes; 5 small
attic windows with C19 2/2 sashes.
Right return has central forward break under pediment; ground
floor has 2 tall French windows to centre, flanked by Venetian
windows with Doric columns, angle pilasters, entablature and
archivolt, and sashes with glazing bars; first floor has
central tall windows as below with lattice grilles, flanked by
6/6 sashes; 2 attic windows with 3/3 sashes and lunette to
pediment.
2-window left return with to left the rear wing with 6/6 and
2/2 sashes; gabled end wing has rubbed brick flat arches to
entrance with 6-panel door and windows; rear facing stables
has lean-to outshut and first-floor windows with rusticated
wedge lintels over 6/6 sashes; right return of rear wing has
large segmental-headed entrance and segmental-headed window to
3-light transomed small-paned glazing with iron opening
casement; some sashed windows.
INTERIOR: recorded as having contemporary staircases and
fittings including panelled shutters.
