GV II

House, public house from 1837. C17 with later alterations and
additions. Timber-frame with painted brick infill on brick
plinth; steeply pitched thatched roof with brick end stack and
stack to rear of ridge. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 3-window range. Central entrance has C20
door in shallow porch attached to lean-to projection under
slate roof to left with canted bay window fitted with leaded
glazing; canted bay window to right. First floor has 3
windows, one to left a half-dormer, with 2-light small-paned
casements. Right end has wide brick plinth; canted bay window
and first-floor window with wood architrave to 2-light
small-paned casement; adjacent 2-storey brick rear wing has
slate roof and similar casements and blocked entrance. Varied
rear additions.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
