House. C17 with later additions and alterations including
those to west of C18, and late C19; rear west extension of
1938. Small, square panels of timber-framing to right unit and
to east gable end with angle braces, and brick nogging,
otherwise pinkish-brown brick with plain-tile roof.
3-unit, lobby entrance plan. Originally of 2 framed bays, but
west bay walls rebuilt in brick when further west bay added.
EXTERIOR: single storey plus attic, 3 window-range. Off-centre
east entrance with a plank door in solid frame and cornice
over. To west a canted bay window with C20 casements, to right
are 2 small casement windows. West 2 units have a first-floor,
2-course band. Gabled roof, half-hipped to west, with 3 gabled
dormers fitted with casements. West, front and internal
stacks, ridge stack. Range to rear under hipped roof.
INTERIOR: inglenook fireplace with bressumer to centre room.
C17 bridging beams, elm floorboards, and wide-plank doors.
Winder staircase to side of stack has some stick balusters. To
east end, extensive exposed timbering. C17 roof framing with 2
queen strut trusses, purlins and rafters.
