House. C17 with later additions and alterations including C20
ranges to right and rear. Timber-framed with colour-washed
brick nogging, renewed tile roof. Cross-wing to left and
single cell to right.
EXTERIOR: 1- and 2- storeys with attics, 2-window range, the
taller range to left. Small, square panels of timber-framing
with curved braces and massive jowled wall-post to right with
braces. Right end stack. Plank door with hood to right of
centre. C20 casement windows throughout, that to upper floor
to right under gabled dormer, also casement to gable to left.
Gabled roofs.
INTERIOR: has extensive exposed small square panels of
timber-framing; exposed chamfered spine beam and joists with
ogee stops; rebuilt inglenook fireplace with original
deeply-chamfered bressumer beam to original rear wall; first
floor has exposed wind braces and jowled stud at left;
probably queen strut roof truss. Attic to left wing has
roughly-hewn purlins and ridge purlin, rear end wall has
tie-beam with vee-struts.
