GV II

Cart shed and stable with hayloft over. Cart shed c1700 with
probably late C18 stable range to west and later additions and
alterations. Timber-framing to east gable end with
reddish-brown brick and with plain-tile roof.
EXTERIOR: 3-bay range with 2-bay range to west. East range: to
east end a bressumer beam to cart opening with pitching door
above, gable end has small square timber-framing; to south
side a plank door in moulded wood frame and to upper floor a
plank pitching door and a 4-pane window, further pitching door
opposes one to north side.
INTERIOR: 2 trusses of curved principals with collar, ridge
purlin, side purlins and wind braces, tie-beams have ogee
stops, all roughly-hewn timbers. Range to west has
cart-opening with double plank doors and timber lintel; stable
opening consists of a plank door with elliptical arch and
small, elliptically arched window opening with plank strut
cover. Flight of steps to west gable end and pitching door in
gable with 4-pane overlight.
Manor Farmhouse (qv), Barn Range (qv), Stables (qv) and Cart
shed with Stable and Hayloft form a group.
