GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Late C17/early C18 with C19 outhouse
adjoining and C20 alterations. Timber-framed covered by render
and mock framing, brick wings, with plain-tile roofs and slate
roof to lean-to, and brick stack. 2-unit-plan rear wing with
lean-to.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey; 3-window range. On first floor are a
3-light, a single-light and a 2-light casement. To ground
floor a 2-light and a 3-light casement. Central entrance
within glazed passage which links to C19 brick outhouse
extension which has a 3-light casement facing. To left return
a 3-light casement and a 2-light casement on both floors of
rear wing. Central ridge stack. Lean-to has catslide roof.
INTERIOR: timber-framing with jowled studs. Chamfered spine
beams, open fireplace with brick piers. Plank doors. Tie-beam
trusses with one purlin probably renewed early C19. Further
small open fireplace to right, stack removed.
Forms a group with Benson's Barn and Country Cottage (qv).
