House, now post office. C17, with C18 addition and later
alterations. Coursed lias limestone rubble (coarsely jointed
wide and narrow courses with finely jointed narrow courses to
right); steeply pitched renewed tile roof with swept eaves,
stone coping and brick end stack to right. 3-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic; 3-window range. C19 shop front
has 4 panelled pilasters with enriched consoles to flat
cornice, small-paned glazing incorporating post box and
central entrance with glazed C20 door; to right a
segmental-headed window with sill, fitted with a 8/8 sash in
flush wood frame. 1st floor has two windows with small-paned
cross-casements under timber lintels; to right a window
similar to that below. Attic has two C19 gabled dormers.
Renewed datestone of 1615 over shop front.
Right return has brick infill to gable head. Rear has gabled
wing with 4-light recessed-chamfered-mullioned window to
ground floor; varied additions.
INTERIOR: has some chamfered beams to the shop.
