House. C17 with later minor additions and alterations.
Timber-frame with whitewashed brick and plastered
wattle-and-daub infill, some whitewashed brick to left and to
outshut, all on rubble plinth; steeply pitched renewed thatch
roof with brick end stacks and tile roof to outshut. Gable
facing, front to left; 2-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey with attic; 2-window range. Brick to
left half, roughcast to right half. Entrance to left of centre
has half-glazed lean-to porch and C20 door. 2 windows with
2-light casements; eyebrow dormer to left has 2-light casement
over irregular wall plate.
Right return has half-hipped gable with exposed timber framing
over lean-to outshut clasping external stack and with gabled
projection; rounded rubble oven projection with stone slate
roof to right.
Rear has exposed square framing and entrance with C20 door to
left of centre, small light to centre and 2 small windows with
leaded glazing; 2 small 1st floor windows.
INTERIOR: recorded as having chamfered spine beams and blocked
open fireplace with bressumer; late C18 open fireplace
inserted in kitchen; truss tie beam cut for doorway probably
at same time. Old elm plank doors to kitchen and 1st floor.
Framing remains in party wall to left and partition wall; C20
staircase.
