GV II
House. Early C17 with C18 rear wing. Brick with some
timber-frame and ashlar to end, on rubble plinth; steeply
pitched renewed tile roofs with brick cross-axial and end
stacks. 2-unit plan plus double-gabled rear wing.
EXTERIOR: main elevation to rear: 2 storeys; 3-window range.
Left end is ashlar. Segmental-headed entrance to left end and
entrance with C20 glazed door to right end. 2 windows with C20
casements flank blocked arch with small light; 1st floor has
windows with C20 casements.
Elevation to street has plat band to wing, and some
timber-frame with brick infill to left of wing. Ground floor
has 3 segmental-headed windows, one with 2-light casement and
2 with small-paned cross-casements with panelled shutters; one
central shuttered light; to left a return lean-to outshut with
entrance.
Left return is partly ashlar with former roof line suggesting
catslide outshut; small lean-to outshut with old tile roof.
INTERIOR: has large ashlar fireplace with stop-chamfered
bressumer; chamfered beam and early C17 oak panelling;
timber-framed cross-walls; 1st floor has 3-plank door.
