House. c1600 with C18 and mid C20 additions. Timber-frame with
plaster infill on rubble plinth, and brick; half-hipped
thatched roof with brick end stacks. Gable facing, front to
right; 2-unit plan with outshut to left end joined to formerly
separate wing, believed to be blacksmith's shop, by C20 block;
late C20 single-storey wing to right return.
EXTERIOR: single-storey plus attic; 2-window range. Entrance
to left end has plank door. Ground floor has window with
2-light small-paned casement and one with 2-light C20 leaded
casement; 2 raking dormers have 2-light C20 leaded casements
with iron opening casements.
Single-storey wing has some timber-framing, with brick to each
end; windows with C20 leaded casements.
Elevation to street is similar, with porch to C20 entrance;
lean-to outshut to gable has tile roof and C20 casement.
INTERIOR: flag floor and stop-chamfered beams; restored
fireplace with bressumer, and winding stair to left; roof has
thin principals and purlins, one purlin has forked end; some
wide-boarded doors; wing has trusses with raking struts.
