House in terrace of five. Early C19. Rendered with stone
dressings, all colourwashed, Welsh slate roof, ashlar stone
and batt brick chimney stacks. Double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics and basement, two wide bays.
Plinth, end pilasters returned as eaves band course. Sash
windows in plain architraves, 16-pane to ground floor and
12-pane to first floor; between lower windows a 6-panel door
with rectangular fanlight having ornamental glazing, with
stone doorcase of Tuscan pilasters, with paterae, dosseret,
plain frieze and moulded cornice. Small flat-roofed dormers
with slate cheeks, with 2-light small-pane casement windows,
cast-iron ogee gutter, grilles in paved area to basement.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Attached at left to No.31 Saddler Street (qv). Nos 1-9 (odd)
form a consistent early C19 terrace design.
