GV II
House, now shop. Mid C19, front altered C20. Bath stone
ashlar, hipped Welsh slate roof behind high parapet, render
brick chimney stack.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 2 bays. Later C20 Shop front across whole
of ground floor between two plain pilasters, with cornice and
parapet above, central double doors in angled recess, deep
fascia under timber cornice. First floor has large 12-pane
sash windows in architraves with flat hoods over, second floor
has 9-pane sashes with architraves only.
Side elevation to Union Street rendered and colourwashed, with
vehicle entrance to bay 1 and 12-pane sash window ground floor
bay 2, other lower window now blind, mostly 12-pane sash
windows above in 6 random bays, some modified, and with some
C20 casements and steel windows. Plain rendered gable to rear.
INTERIOR: the ground floor totally modernised, basement has
series of brick arched vaults on cast-iron bearers, first
floor stripped, but second floor has C19 partitions and
doorways, two mid C19 fireplaces and a good cupboard unit.
