House with shop. Mid C19. Rendered with stone dressings, all
colourwashed, clay pantiled roof between coped gables, brick
chimney stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3 bays. Moulded cornice, blocking-course
and plain parapet. Late C20 shop front across whole of ground
floor, the central portion recessed, with two circular street
columns supporting work above, deep fascia with coping and
brackets at ends. First and second floors have plain sash
windows in moulded architraves and to stone sills. Modern
projecting sign at first floor level.
Return elevation to Mill Street has the first gable rendered
and plain, with stack, the second gable in random roughly
squared local stonework. At the ground floor are 2 blocked
former openings, and above are sash windows having timber
architraves, a 16-pane and a 4-pane to first floor and two
12-pane to second floor.
INTERIOR: the ground floor modified, but on first floor are
C18 doors to front section and mid C19 doors to rear. Simple
early C19 stairs with turned newels and stick balusters.
Second floor has most original partitions, but with late C19
doors and a early C20 fireplace in west room.
