GV II

GV II House. Early C19 refronting of C16 house. Rendered and colourwashed over rubble, triple roll clay tiled roof with high coped gable to south, and continuation to north over No.23 (qv) , brick chimney stacks. One-unit plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2 bays. Plinth. Ground floor has 12-pane sash windows in plain openings, first floor has 2-light cross-glazed casement windows. Entrance between bays, a part-glazed door on heavy frame, with timber hood on brackets. Small pointed arch attic window in south gable end.
INTERIOR: VAG report notes C16 open fireplace with scratch-moulded flanking cupboards to right, winder stair to rear; stack to left, probably inserted into former passage with beam morticed for former partition to right; 3-bay roof with notched tenoned apexes, 2 tiers of in-line tenoned purlins and cranked tenoned collars.
