Offices on corner site, formerly house. Early C19. Rendered
and colourwashed, Welsh slate roof with sweep to corner, plain
gables, ashlar chimney stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic, single bay to Saddler Street,
curved corner bay and 2 bays to Chamberlain Street. Plinth,
pilasters to bays, cornice band. Probably 1930s shop front to
Saddler Street and corner bay, with rendered pilasters
flanking pair 3-panel doors and rectangular fanlight on left,
then 20-pane bronze casement. First floor has 12-pane sash
windows in plain architraves, with one built on the curve.
The Chamberlain Street elevation has bronze casements to
ground floor, at first-floor level bay 2 has a 12-pane sash
window, but bay 1 has a blind window with glazing bars painted
on. 3 flat-roofed dormers with modern casement windows in
roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The property was built as part of the terrace Nos 1 to 9,
Chamberlain Street (qqv), taking the design into Sadler Street
by a graceful quadrant curve, very characteristic of urban
development in the early C19.
