GV II

House. C15 with C17 additions and later restorations. Painted
timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill panels,
painted brick to later bays. Plain-tile roofs with projecting
brick eaves stack and ridge stacks all with restored profiled
brick shafts. L-shaped plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Street front with a projecting gable to
left with cambered tie beam, twin raking struts and swept
collar, large square panels 4 high, 2 swept arched braces
below tie beam, 2-light casement over 3-light casement, eaves
raised and complete wing over-roofed.
3-bay wing to right of lighter construction square-panelled
framing 3 panels high with probable raised eaves. 2 3-light
casements, that to right under a small gable, scattered
ground-floor casements, panelled front entrance door to far
left under tiled lean-to porch, central door with simple
pediment.
All fenestration of C19 leaded casements with pointed
Gothick-style top lights set in slightly projecting wood
mullioned frames with bracketed hoods. C20 addition to far
right.
Left side wall of square framing 4 panels high with raised
eaves, arched braces at gable ends, projecting stack to right.
Rear: gable truss to right mirroring front truss, first-floor
casement and ground-floor door flanked by casements. 3-bay
range to left with square framing similar to front with
scattered casements.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
