GV II

Barn converted to shop in 1970s. C17. Painted timber frame on
stone rubble plinth, with painted render infill panels.
Plain-tile roof with C20 roof-lights on east pitch. Plan
consists of 3 framed bays aligned with street.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Street front has posts and rails forming
square panelling 3 panels high with close studding and
straight tension braces at each end. 2 pairs of glazed infill
panels at the upper storey, central C20 glazed door flanked by
glazed infill panels below.
North gable end: cambered tie beam below collar, 3 vertical
struts and raking struts forming Y shape; posts and rails
under tie beam form square panels with the lowest panels
close-studded with straight tension braces each side. 3 glazed
infill panels at upper level.
Rear wall frame: posts and rails forming square panelling 3
panels high with the lowest tier of panels close-studded,
straight tension brace on left side, 3 glazed infill panels
and boarded door at upper level, C20 central glazed double
doors, single glazed door to left and multi-pane wood casement
to right. South gable end rebuilt in brick.
INTERIOR: framing exposed in all areas of the building. Twin
trenched-purlin roof with 2 internal twin raking-strut
trusses.
