GV II
Rectory, now house. Early C18 with early and mid C19
alterations. Brick with painted stone quoins, broad stone
bands above and below upper windows on frontage, with brick
bands on rear and sides, stone cornice (front only) under
steep pitched plain-tile roof, stone coped brick parapet
gables, formerly surmounted by bell turret. Stepped integral
brick eaves stack to rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attic and cellar. Front is a 2-storey,
4-window range of tall 9/9 broad-framed sashes in shallow
reveals with gauged brick lintels. 6-panelled front entrance
door to centre left with projecting open slate-roofed trellis
porch. Small stone rubble and brick single-storey addition at
west end, to front of house.
Left gable end and rear: brick bands and brick
segmental-arched opening on each floor with wood mullion and
transom windows. Left gable partly covered by small mid C19
chapel with gable facing rear garden incorporating blind
ashlar arch with ashlar roundel over.
Right gable: 2 attic casements with brick segmental-arched
lintels.
