GV II*

Farmhouse. Mid C15 with C16 and C18 additions. Painted timber
frame with painted rendered infill panels, painted render,
stone rubble. Plain-tile roofs. Large projecting stepped
rubble stack with early C20 brick upper shaft. T-shaped plan
consisting of 3-bay main range and 2-bay cross wing.
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic. Street side wall of cross
wing is close-studded with arched braces at first-floor level.
Large central dormer with 2-light casement, close-studded
side-framing, tie beam, collar and vertical and raking struts
over.
Right side: projecting rendered jettied gable of cross wing to
left with C20 casement at each floor; in centre is C20
casement with large framed dormer over, to right is entrance
door with 2-light casement to far right. Left side: projecting
rendered gable of cross wing to right with C20 casement at
each storey; central projecting stone stack; single-storey
projecting gabled extension with garage door in gable to left.
Roughcast rendered end gable of main range with inset C20
casement, over stone rubble ground floor.
INTERIOR: main range contains former C15 open hall with
smoke-blackened rafters and arch-braced collar-truss and
cruck-truss in 2-bay former open hall. C16 cross wing has
single trenched purlin roof with windbraces, chamfered
bridging beams with ogee chamfer stops, C18 inserted newel
staircase.
