Farmhouse, with remains of old moat. C17. Painted timber frame
and infill panels, unpainted to rear, stone rubble, red brick.
Plain-tile roofs. Projecting stepped stone eaves stack to rear
with C20 brick upper shaft. Projecting brick stack to cross
wing eaves with 3 brick spurred shafts with connecting
oversailing cap. T-shaped on plan of main stone range and
framed cross wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Front with close-studded framed
gable to right with tension brace to ground storey and left
gable return wall. Jettied first and attic floors with moulded
bressumers. Tie beam, square panels with inset diagonal braces
forming herringbone pattern at first floor and star pattern at
gable. Ground and first floors each with one 2/2:6/6:2/2
tripartite sash; blocked casement in gable. To left, main
2-window stone-walled range of 2-light casements with top
lights at first floor, 3-light casement with top light and 6/6
sash at ground level. Later 2-storey single-window brick
extension range on left-hand side.
Rear: covered to right with later stone rubble lean-to
extension with entrance door. To left, restored framed gable
of close-studded ground floor, square-framed first floor and
gable with inset diagonal bracing forming herringbone pattern:
scattered 2-light casements.
Side wall of cross wing covered by lean-to extension
encapsulating large brick stack.
