Former hotel, converted into four houses circa 2000. C18 with extensive later additions and alterations. Painted render and painted brick with red brick additions. Plain-tile and slate gabled and hipped roofs with parapets. Brick projecting gable-end stack with various scattered brick stacks on later wings. L-shaped plan with extensive additions to rear and side.
EXTERIOR: two storeys. South front has to left a large projecting two storey rendered bow, fitted with five-light wood mullioned windows under conical slate roof with modillioned curved cornice. Wing to right with three 6/6 sashes with cambered lintels at first floor and two ground floor Venetian sash windows (no glazing bars), and with parapet eaves. Rear of front wing: twin gabled range with gable to the right with painted timber framing of lapped raking struts forming diagonal pattern. Extension wings to right with three 8/8 sashes with cambered heads in walls with dentil course eaves. Ground floor areas covered by C20 flat-roofed extensions. Additional brick wing to left with parapet and two storey projecting C19 brick bow window with three curved 8/1 sashes to each floor. To right is recessed doorway with sash above. Left return side of brick wing is two window range of 8/8 sashes except for a 2/2 sash to left of first floor. Projecting brick chimney to right. Large late C19 two storey and attic wing to set back to left with slate roof. C19 service wing and C20 additions to the rear.
INTERIOR: covered with C20 linings.
