Bridge for minor road over Hopton Brook. Late C18-early C19.
Brick and stone rubble.
Single round arch of 5.5 metre span on abutments rising 4.5
metres above the brook, with brick flanking buttresses. Stone
rubble side walls with 3 buttresses each side and splayed
approach walls. Brick central parapet with 2 brick string
courses. Stone rubble side parapets with the 2 string courses
continued in ashlar. Ashlar plain copings now mostly renewed
in concrete. Parapet and roadway probably raised.
Retaining walls on north-east side have brick-vaulted footway
under the road with ashlar segmental-arched openings.
