GV II

Stables now 3 flats. Late C18. Brick with brick plinth.
Plain-tile hipped roofs with deep eaves. Brick ridge stacks.
Open cupola with arched octagonal arcading.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Front with advanced central bay
containing carriage entry with doorway with arched head and
ashlar keyblock, springing cornice and plinth, set in arched
recess with a leaded-light roundel in each spandrel, the whole
surmounted by a stone-coped pedimented gable with brick
cornice and brick projecting storey bands. Large clock-face
set in pediment. Flanking side wings each with a pair of
3-light casements with segmental arches on both floors, the
lower pair transomed to right and brick-blocked to left. C19
single-storey and attic wing to right.
Left return side: stucco wall with first-floor string course
and leaded-light mullion and transom window over. Rear of
central porte cochere flanked by 2-storey, 3-window range each
side: 2/2 sashes with cross-window roundel to the end at first
floor, and 4/4 sashes at ground floor with flat stone lintels.
Central raised stone-coped gable penetrating eaves with 2/2
sash to attic and clock-face over. C19 wing to left.
