Small barn attached to farmhouse, with added shippon. Probably
C19; shippon added in early C20. Four-bay plan on east-west
axis facing north, with very prominent full-height lean-to
shippon covering all but the left end, which has a wagon
doorway with a wooden lintel protected by a stone-slate
drip-band. Doorway in side of shippon, close to junction with
barn. Rear has some through-stones, and one opening with
rubble voussoirs. INTERIOR: main range has three C19
principal-rafter trusses (softwood). Forms group with
Birchentree Farmhouse adjoining to left (qv).
