Farmhouse or two cottages, now single dwelling. Probably early
C18, with C19 additions; altered. White-painted random rubble
with quoins, stone slate roof. Single-depth 1-unit plan on
north-south axis, facing east, with 2nd unit added at north
end; on low ground with south gable wall built into roadside.
2 storeys, 2:1 windows, with a vertical joint between the
builds. The 2-window portion has a gabled porch offset right,
a 4-pane sash to the left, two small 2-light chamfered mullion
windows above, and a square corbelled chimney at the left
gable, with a cornice. The added bay to the right has a
doorway abutting the junction, a 6-pane sash at ground floor,
a 2-light casement above, and a gable chimney. Privy attached
to north gable wall.
INTERIOR: older portion has 2 lateral beams.
Interesting example of former 1-unit 2-storey dwelling (c.f.
West Stonehouse, qv). Forms group with Three Roods (qv).
