Farmhouse with attached barn in one build. Dated 1851 on
plaque on north gable. Coursed sandstone rubble with raised
quoining, graduated slate roof. Rectangular plan on
north-south axis facing west: double-depth and double-fronted
house with north gable to road and barn continued at south
end.
EXTERIOR: the house, 2 storeys and 2 windows, is symmetrical,
with a panelled door under a shallow 3-pane overlight with
margin panes, in a plain architrave with cavetto-moulded
cornice; 2 large hornless 16-pane sashes on each floor with
raised sills and plain surrounds with hoodmoulds; a gable
chimney to the left and a ridge chimney to the right.
Single-storey lean-to at north gable. The barn to the south
has a tall segmental-headed wagon doorway offset slightly
left, with a quoined surround, and floating drip-band with a
row of pigeon holes immediately underneath it. The rear (east)
elevation of the house has a small gabled porch offset right,
a tall 36-pane stair-window offset left, two 16-pane windows
on each floor (all hornless sashes except that to the left
which has fixed glazing), and a 9-pane top-hung casement in
the lean-to; and the barn to the left has a small lean-to.
