GV II

Small barn or shippon. Probably C18; altered. Large
dry-jointed sandstone rubble brought to courses, with quoins;
stone slate roof. Rectangular 3-cell plan on east-west axis
facing south, with full-height internal stone partitions; 3rd
cell set back slightly. The centre has a doorway with a wooden
lintel and stone-slate drip-band; the set-back 3rd bay has a
doorway at the junction, with a stone lintel. The west gable
wall has a doorway near the south corner, with a stone lintel
and a board door, and a small opening near the rear corner.
INTERIOR: centre bay has wooden manger on rear wall. Purlin
roofs carried by stone partition walls.
Forms group with Blake Rigg (qv). Included as part of a
significant and prominent farmstead group at Blake Rigg.
