(October 1994). Probably late C17 or early C18; altered.
Roughly coursed sandstone rubble, the front of the house
grey-washed; stone slate roof. Wide 2-unit plan on roughly
east-west axis facing south, with a continuous shallow
full-height outshut (backing onto the road); barn attached to
west end.
HOUSE: 2 storeys, 3 widely-separated windows. The ground floor
has a wide gabled porch in the centre, with a square-headed
outer opening, a triangular set of 6 pigeon holes with stone
slate ledges, stone flagged roof, side benches and a
square-headed inner doorway with a board door; a rectangular
window to the left and a small fire-window to the left of that
(both with altered glazing), and a pair of square 9-pane
windows to the right, the 1st with a top-hung casement and the
2nd fixed, with a stone-slate drip-band over the pair. The
upper floor has a narrow window and a square 9-pane fixed
window to the left, both offset slightly right of those below
and the latter with one opening pane in the top right corner;
and a small square 4-pane fixed window to the right (the right
upper pane opening). Corbelled chimney at left gable, gable
chimney to right. Rear: outshut, 2 low storeys under catslide
roof, has 4 small rectangular windows including a
