GV II

Farmhouse. Early C18, extended in C19 and altered. Mixed
random rubble, the facade painted white, graduated stone slate
roof (with some blue slates on the rear slope). Rectangular
single-depth 2-unit plan plus 1-unit addition at south end.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 1:3 windows, with a plinth. The 2-unit
main range has a low gabled porch offset left of centre, with
a square-headed outer opening, stone side-benches, and a C19
panelled inner door; a 3-light casement to the left and a
2-light casement to the right, both with large rectangular
lintels, and 3 square 2-light casements at 1st floor; all
these windows with 4 panes to each light. Ridge chimney to
former left gable (now junction with addition). The addition
to the left has a doorway to the left and one casement window
on each floor (the upper offset left). Rear: 9-pane fixed
window in centre of ground floor, stair-window offset left and
2 widely-separated windows at 1st floor (probably mostly
inserted); vertical joint to addition.
INTERIOR: scored muntin-and-rail panelled partitioning at 1st
floor (both axial and lateral).
Forms group with barn to east (qv).
