Barn. C18, altered. Roughly coursed mixed rubble and boulder
stones with randomly placed through-stones and large irregular
quoins, stone slate roof. Long rectangular range on east-west
axis. The left half has a stone-slate course over a former
segmental-headed wagon doorway with rubble voussoirs, and has
been reduced in width by insertion of masonry and a window;
right of this are 2 windows and a square-headed doorway, and
offset to the right above this is a loading doorway; the
right-hand half has a square window and to the right above
this another loading doorway. Right-hand (east) gable wall has
a course of through-stones, and a doorway near the rear
corner. Front wall appeared in poor condition at time of
inspection (1994), and roof sagging. Forms group with Cautley
Thwaite Farmhouse (qv).
Formerly described as "Barn to east".
