Farmhouse. Probably C17, rebuilt, enlarged and re-modelled in
C19. Mixed random rubble including boulder-stones, with
quoins, the south front roughcast; graduated green slate roof.
Three-unit plan (2+1) on east-west axis facing south, with
shallow rear outshut to east half.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and 5 windows (grouped 4:1). The ground
floor of the 4-window main range has the doorway offset
slightly left, protected by late C19 wooden trellis-sided
gabled porch with bargeboards and finial; a large square
6-pane sash to the left, a narrow sash without glazing bars to
the right, and another square 6-pane sash to the right of
that. The upper floor has 4 similar 6-pane sashes. The 1-bay
portion to the right has one similar window on each floor.
Gable chimney to left, ridge chimney at junction. Rear: main
range has gabled wooden porch offset left, shallow oblong
6-pane sash near west end, and 3 small 4-pane sashes above;
outshut has 2 windows at ground floor, and 3 flat-roofed
dormers breaking the eaves.
INTERIOR: re-modelled, but east bay contains large chamfered
beam, and bottom portion of one cruck blade on north side.
