GV II

House. Late C18 with C19 and C20 alterations. Narrow coursed
millstone grit with ashlar dressings, stone slate roofs and 4
end stacks with coping and watertabling.
PLAN: double-depth.
EXTERIOR: 2 storey. Street front has regular 2 window range.
Central doorway with C20 door in painted flush ashlar surround
flanked by single pairs of plain horned sashes in flush ashlar
surrounds. Above two 3-light flush mullion windows, that to
left with central casement, that to right with central horned
sash both at eaves level.
Left return has single storey lean-to addition and above
single 2-light glazing bar sliding sash.
Rear elevation has 2 window range. Central doorway with to
left low 2-light glazing bar casement to dairy and to right
enlarged C20 casement. Above two 2-light flush mullion windows
with glazing bar casements.
INTERIOR: has stone flag floors to service rooms. Deep window
seat to kitchen and single beam on stone corbel. Stone sett to
dairy. Ceiling beams to principal room. Some planked doors
survive.
