Water tower. 1886; for the Southwold Water Company. Gault
brick with red brick dressings and limestone lintels; water
tank of riveted steel.
EXTERIOR: 5-storey cylindrical tower with pronounced batter to
base supports cylindrical water tank. Tower has C20
replacement doors to front and rear. On each upper stage, at
the cardinal points, are narrow 1- and 2-light windows with
replacement casements. All openings have chamfered lintels. At
the tower head is a soldier brick band with bullnose
mouldings. Walkway with horizontal railings at base of tank.
INTERIOR: vertical plank boarding to walls.
