Town house, now 2 shops with offices over. c1800, altered. Red
brick in Flemish bond with some sandstone dressings, slate
roof. Double-depth, double-fronted plan, plus back extension.
3 storeys and 5 windows, symmetrical; with a cavetto-moulded
eaves cornice; a central round-headed doorway in an
open-pedimented Tuscan doorcase of 3-quarter columns with
square abaci and finely-moulded draped urns on the friezes,
6-panel door and fanlight with radiating metal tracery (now
flanked by symmetrical shop fronts); sashed windows of
12 panes at 1st floor and 6 panes at 2nd floor, both those in
the centre with moulded architraves and that at 1st floor with
a cornice. INTERIOR not inspected.
Forms group with Nos 26 to 34 opposite (qv), and with Nos 13
and 15 (qv) and Nos 7 to 11 (qv) to the right. Nos 21 and 25
were listed on 04.08.1983.
