Barn approximately 5 metres
south-west of Stockwood House
GV II
Barn. Mid C18 with early C19 alterations. Rubble walling
rendered with some brick infill to south face; gabled roof
with ashlar copings and slates to south, pantiles to north
with section of C20 single-Roman tile to west end.
PLAN: 2-storey range set at right-angles of road with west end
now forming part of adjacent Stockwood Cottage (not included).
EXTERIOR: coped gables with apex finial to east end. South
face blank except doorway to right with plank door. North face
with cambered-arched opening to left with plank door and 2
lights above; segmental-arched gate opening with plank gate
and small planked opening above, 6-pane fixed light to centre;
gabled full-dormer with plank door and projecting wooden
hoist; plank door to right with 3-paned light above. East
return wall has 2-centre arched blocked doorway.
INTERIOR: flagged floors; some internal walls and
coupled-rafter roof.
Forms a group with and forms part of the setting for Stockwood
House (qv).
