Detached house. Early C18 or possibly earlier, with minor C19
alterations. Squared and coursed rubble with stone dressings,
ashlar copings and gabled pantile roof with gable end ashlar
stacks.
PLAN: main house with double-depth plan and extension to rear
under catslide roof.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey; 3-window range. Symmetrical south front
with central doorway and string courses above ground- and
first-floor windows. Windows to outer bays on both floors are
12-pane sashes in moulded architraves with sills; second floor
has central window only: paired casement set in stone surround
with sill. Doorway has moulded architrave and flat stone hood
on brackets; door replaced by late C19 2-leaf French windows
with margin glazing. Sundial or clock face with pediment over
to centre at first-floor level. West return wall has 3 C19
casements and glazed, gabled porch with inner part-glazed,
panelled door.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The upper storey windows were inserted in the mid C20 (local
information). Deeds, relating to an established building, go
back to 1699.
