Farmhouse. C17, extended C20. Rendered cob or rubble; dry
slate roof; rendered end stacks, the left-hand stack over a
3-stage rendered external breast with clay tile and slate
weatherings. Original 2-room plan with presumed hall on the
left, extended with pantry and dairy outshut at rear probably
in the C18.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 3-window range (plus 2-window range C20
wing on right). Late C19 or C20 horned sashes under segmental
arches, tripartite sashes except for 4-pane sash above central
doorway with panelled door within glazed porch.
INTERIOR: hall has large fireplace with C19 wooden mantelshelf
on brackets, the fireplace still in use as a large open
fireplace with C19 brick hobs and retaining 5 toothed pot
hangers and other C19 cooking utensils; there are 2 chamfered
and stopped crossbeams, and between them, giving access to the
rear wing is a very heavy C18 doorframe and good planked door.
Other C18 features include planked doors with original
furniture and a 6-panel door with fielded panels to the
parlour and straight-flight staircase. Lime-washed king-post
roof structure is C19.
